Why Skipton, North Yorkshire ?
It's meant to be real good, a lot of the membership live there and it was a reasonable distance for people from further afield to travel to. (It's going to be a 189.5 mile trip for my girlfriend and I to travel down from Edinburgh.)


When ?
Friday 23/Saturday 24 - Sunday 25 July 2004


What's the plan ?
Stay over at one of the B&B's or campsites. Have a beer and a meal on the Saturday night. Go for a rideout on Saturday and/or Sunday. Ogle one anothers bikes. Put faces to the names of your fellow HBON members and HawkGT listers. For those heading back south on the Sunday you could always go home via the MotoGP at Donington

Friday evening (around 8pm) -
Meet up in the Bay Horse in Skipton (Keighley Rd) and have something to eat.
Saturday lunch (around 1pm) -
Meet up in the Bay Horse in Skipton, ogle bikes and go for a run if the weather is good - it's meant to be :)
Saturday evening (around 6pm) -
Meet up in the Black Horse (High St - just for somewhere different), ogle any new bikes and go for summat to eat.
Sunday -
Text me if you're coming on Sunday. We'll need to have left by mid-afternoon to head back up to Edinburgh

Who's welcome ?
Open to: HBON members; ex-HBON members; HawkGT Listers; anyone interested in seeing what a HawkGT/Bros actually looks like and any of your mates who fancy joining in.


What rideouts ?
ROUTE 1
A65 north west from Skipton and then pick up B6480 Settle. B6479 from Settle to Chapel Le Dale. B6255 from Chapel Le Dale to Ingleton. Back along the A65 south east through Gigleswick and Coniston Cold to Skipton.

Total Distance: 61.4 miles
Total Time: 1 hr 33 min

This should be a mix of B roads through the National Park and better A roads there and back.


ROUTE 2
A65 east from Skipton to Bolton Abbey. B6160 north from Bolton Abbey to Burnsall and Linton. B6265 south from Linton through Cracoe and Stirton to Skipton.

Total Distance: 25.9 miles
Total Time: 0 hr 45 min

This is a short B road jaunt into the National Park

Can any of the Yorkshire 'Chapter' think of a better place to meet up and/or better rideouts ?
